Oxwall 1.7.5 release

Oxwall 1.7.5 is available for download immediately. Complete changelog can be found here.

The highlight of this release is mobile forum and mobile WYSIWYG:

We hope your community gets a good boost with the mobile forum which is one of the most anticipated feature. We continue our quest to properly mobilize Oxwall, so expect more news from us in the future.

Important: If you are running Oxwall of any previous version, you are encouraged to wait until the auto-update prompt appears in your admin area. Before you attempt it, make sure to:

  • Back up your website. Seriously, folks, better safe than sorry;
  • Run the platform update first, only after that run all available plugin updates;
  • Run theme update also only after the platform update.

If you don’t want to perform the update yourself, check companies and contractors specializing in Oxwall support.

Thanks,
Oxwall team.

  1. Awesome news and I like the new features. I’m just waiting for the auto update and I’ll update. Please go on like this. Oxwall is one of the best community solution.

  2. It could be more available
    Instead of making changes in a short time in a long time
    more business can be done

  3. Why not add share button
    this is a big missing

    Share and like the old shares should be added
    users may be more active in this way
    Please like and share buttons sheep

  4. Thanks for your great work!
    I’m wondering if adding groups and event are in plan to be added to the mobile soon?

    Thanks

    • We definitely plan to implement mobile versions of desktop features, but it requires time.

  5. Thanks again Oxwall team, Looking forwards to testing the new mobile out. It is always the main complaint for anyone these days if the site does not work on their mobile device they right away blame you. Keep up the good work, Good things take time and people hate to wait so just keep doing what you are doing and let them good updates roll!

    Regards,

  6. Here my site with arabic language using (oxwall 1.7.5) still testing mobile version in RTL mode

    I had to edit css in many places

  7. I’m waiting for a german language pack for this version! The old one don’t translate all the stuff!

    • Keep in mind, that we don’t offer any official translations. All translations are done by the community and you can contribute to them!

  8. Well, a great update, except for one thing: suspended users can change their avatars. IMHO, this is a bad feature. The suspended users should not be able to login and edit their profiles at all. Whom do we suspend? Scammers and spammers. Why don’t we remove them completely? Because you never know whom did they manage to contact prior to suspension and possibly dropped their email addy, so their victims MUST know they are crooks and have been suspended, so they stop off-site contacts. It would be much better to block them from the site completely and show a reason for their suspension to everybody, as a warning. Other than that, thanks for a good work!

    • Thank you for your feedback. One of the primary reasons to suspend profiles (apart from spam) is when normal users upload unacceptable avatars. This created dead-ends before: you can’t approve a user before their avatar is appropriate, and they can’t change it because they are locked out of the site completely. Suspended users being able to change avatars is at least a harmless feature, at most very useful.
