Following the last week’s release of Oxwall 1.5.2 we were alerted to an issue with cron job encountered by some of the users. Without postponing the resolution until a future major release, we have eliminated the problem with the unplanned minor Oxwall 1.5.3 update.
- Fix for cron job notification in Admin Area (even if a cron command is setup right).
Note that the fix does not affect any of the third-party projects, thus the developers in the community are not required to make any changes in their plugins due to this update.
Don’t forget to check out the full list of goodies (new theme, plugins and platform improvements) released with Oxwall 1.5.2. As always, bу sure to backup your sites before attempting this latest update.

After the update (manual). I got this
Error 500
Internal Server Error.
How to solve it ? Please help.
As explained in this sticky post, you need to turn on the Debug Mode and recognize the actual error on the site.
Sorry for the bad English.
How do I upgrade, I tried to but my users are missing, or deleted data.
What is the way to do it?
The answers can be found at the forum.
i can’t see any automatic update option on admin panel like i have seen when 1.5.2 was released . wondering if it happened with only me or everyone .should i wait to pop up automatic update option or should i do it manually ?
Check this FAQ again, and if the solution does not help, report the issue on the forum.
My site is no longer working!! For God’s sake what do I do now =. (I upload and gave shit, what do I do?
Report the issue on the forum with more details.
I was one of these users who still had the notification, however when i set the job to run locally it got rid of the notification. my server is justhost and i believe htey accept the wget statements which I was using before? Any harm in setting up the job twice (with the loopback wget) and local server command?
No worries, as Cron will not launch more than once per minute anyway.
Where is link update for cron fix 1.5.3 plus captcha is not working properly and its been going on 2 weeks very disappointing. James
You should see the Auto update request in your Admin area. If it is not there, try this solution.
There are also several solutions for the captcha on the community forum. Often the issue is due to the hosting setup.
Some idiot placed a message on the join page that says this sight is not available. I do not know how to get rid of this message. I have examined all source content and can’t find it. Can you help me.
Thanks,
Joel
Make sure to report this by creating a topic on the forum, complete with a screenshot of the error.
In the database tables, when I click on “ow_base_cron_job” it returns a “is marked as crashed and should be repaired”
Whats wrong with this table?
It’s a Mysql server error on your hosting. Try executing repair table. More details here.
I upgraded to the 1.5.2 and no 1.5.3 update is showing in my admin panel.
Please report this at the forum.
Hi Zima,
Just updated and everything seems good. However the ‘Fix for cron job notification in Admin Area’ which was there while updating plugins disappeared for some reason so never go to click it. Will this cause a problem?
Rich
that is good and i ma happy to see that the cron job is fixed for oxwall and i am ready to try it now
